Board of Directors

OUR BOARD AND ITS PURPOSE:

To advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and to assist with the leadership and general promotion of the Columbia Breaks Fire Interpretive Center (CBFC) in support of the organization’s mission and needs.

To support the work of the CBFC and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance.


The CBFC Board meets once a month, and the length of a board member term is three years.


Board duties and functions:

Participate in financial management: Help adopt and oversee an annual budget, review the monthly financial report, monitor budget expenditures, and ensure compliance with all legal and fiduciary responsibilities.

Help communicate and promote CBFC’s mission and programs to the community. Represent CBFC and its mission to stakeholders, interested groups/individuals, and financial supporters.

Be alert to community concerns that can be addressed by the CBFC’s mission, goals, and objectives.

Support CBFC’s financial needs and mission through commitment of time and (if possible) through financial, labor, and/or in-kind contributions.

Attend and support special fund-raising and/or educational events.
