Listed below are a few ways you might be able to contribute. Bear in mind that filling out the form doesn’t automatically commit you to anything, nor do you have to be any kind of expert. You just need to have a strong interest in what Columbia Breaks is doing. Passion is a bonus!
Board Member: This is a very important and fulfilling role, and entails a once-a-month meeting, occasional service on ad hoc committees, as well as being ready to lend a hand when needed for events. (Click here to get more information about our board)*
Advisor: Advisors give specialized support in crucial areas, either on a short term or long term basis (e.g. experience/expertise in financial affairs, website maintenance/IT, marketing/outreach, event planning, instruction/interpretation, etc—the list is lengthy!)
Recreation Ambassador Program
Picking up a tool or lending an occasional hand in a wide variety of areas from carpentry to trail building, from paperwork to pulling weeds—there’s always work to be done, and it can be a lot of fun too! Once or twice a year we schedule regular weekend work parties.
Visitor Service: Sign up to be on hand to provide information, and perhaps guided tours to visitors who stop to visit Columbia Breaks Wildfire Interpretive Center on weekends.
School Education Program: We always need volunteer instructors and helpers at teaching stations for school visits (training is provided).
